In the new policy, local languages are preferred by the government. Primarily, students are needed to learn three languages at the basic level, the language of their states and regions must be incorporated in it. Until grade 5 and in some cases until grade 8, the medium of the instruction of the school will be the local or home languages of the students. Students who have a hearing impairment, sign language will be considered for them.
Easier Board Examination
As per the government, the latest education policy is generated to trim down the pressure of examination from the students. Most of the educationists have depicted that it is highly essential to emphasize the conceptual learning process to improve the eminence of education in India. Boards require persuading the students to apply their learning’s in the competitive environment practically rather than emphasizing on the examinations. That is why the government has determined to condense the stress of examinations. Along with that, the government has enlarged the effortless board examinations by encouraging them to comprehend their subjects in a more defined way.
Emphasizing On The Vocational Studies
It has been said that vocational studies will be emphasized in the proposed education system. Some examples of significant vocational crafts are gardening, carpentry, electronics works and others which will be planned in a new way for the students class 6 to class 8. Apart from this, for the students of class 6 to 12 internship opportunities will be provided as well. In this manner, by the end of 2025 50% of students will be exposed to the vocational education system. To augment vocational education, students will be competent to take their learning’s through online mode as well. For this purpose. The government is going to initiate a separate committee for vocational studies named the National Committee for the Integration of Vocational Education.
Dedicated Unit for Online Tuition Classes
Another key attribute of the new education policy is focusing on online tuition classes. The government has focused on building up digital infrastructure to expand the online education system in both primary schools and higher education enormously. However, the recent pandemic situation of COVID-19 has enforced the government to deliberate on this area as well, therefore, the government is thinking of the unconventional education system like e-learning or virtual medium of tuition. Therefore, students will effortlessly find technology-based options such as online books, online courses, and others. Along with that, the government in the epidemic circumstances of Covid-19 also in the country promotes online education exceedingly.
Generating a Common Regulatory Body
To regulate all the educational activities, there will be only one regulatory body named the Higher Education Commission of India. Previously, multiple authorities are regulating higher education in India. But from now, there will be only one overarching umbrella body that will control the entire education scheme of the country. The four independent vertices will be worked on beneath this regulatory body. They are NHERC for generating the rules and regulations, GEC for setting the educational standard, HEGC for the funding activities and NAC for the accreditation. However, the higher education commission has not integrated the medical and legal education.
No Separation Among The Streams
Massive flexibility to the students will be there in the new education policy. Which diminish the cerebral anxiety of education from them. Now, in the secondary school’s students will choose their subject of study. This policy is included to abolish the separation of arts, science or commerce, also between vocational and academic streams.
