NDA Examination

NDA Examination is the entrance exam for all the defense services in India. Candidates who can clear the cutoffs of this examination can easily get the scope in the three wings of defense forces. This three wings of Defense forces include Army , Navy and Air force.  The NDA (National Defense Academy) examination is held twice in a year in India. Generally in the month of September and April this examination takes place. The candidate who will appear for NDA examination must be an unmarried male. Students can prepare themselves for the examination after completing their 12th Board examination.

The autonomous body which conducts this examination is UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). This is actually the current status. The candidate must undergo the B. Tech and other technical courses in order to get the right guidance. And in order to make the process easy and flexible.

First of all let’s check out the eligibility criteria that a candidate must fulfill in order to sit for this examination:-

NDA Examination Age limit :-

The candidates between the age bracket of 16.5- 19.5 years can apply for this examination.   The date of birth is calculated that is being mentioned on the Matriculation certificate. Or calculated according to school leaving certificate that is being recognized by any recognized Indian University.

NDA Examination Educational Qualification:-    

The educational qualification is different for different scale of academics. Educational qualification of the candidates entirely depends on the nature of job offered for different wings of defense services like Army, Navy and the Air- Force.

Candidates can check the level of their educational qualification as per the below given prescribed directives.

For the Army wing of the National Defense Academy:-    

Candidates must have passed 10+2 Examination from any recognized board under the 10+2 pattern of the school education from Mathematics and Physics by a state board education university or board.

For Airforce and Navy wing of the National Defense Academy:-  

A candidate who is willing to give NDA examination must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized state board in India or an equivalent state board or university.

NDA Examination Syllabus for Mathematics.

Mathematics is the first section of the written examination for the NDA exam. Candidates Mathematics is being taken in a separate booklet and a separate test is being conducted.

The total time duration for this examination is for 2 hours and 30 Minutes. Total number of questions that is being asked is 120 with a total score of 300 marks.

General Knowledge   

The subjects that are covered in the general knowledge section for the NDA examination are as follows.

  1. Physics
  2. Chemistry
  3. General science
  4. Current Events
  5. Geography

General Knowledge section carries the maximum marks of 400 out of 100 questions.

In the general knowledge section, the physics carries the maximum marks whose weight age of 25% Candidates must be clear in all the topics and the concepts of the syllabus that is given below.

How the score calculation of the NDA Examination is conducted?

Currently in NDA examination the written examination is one of the first hurdles that a candidate needs to cross in order to get better scope. The total weight age or the overall weight age of the section is 900.

Mathematics portion:-     

the correct answer will fetch you =2.5 marks

An incorrect answer will deduct =- 0.83 Marks

Score calculation = (Number of correct answer x2.5)- ( no of incorrect answer x 0.83)

General Ability Test:-     

Each correct answer will fetch you:- 4 marks

An incorrect answer will deduct:- -1.33 Marks

Total Score calculation= (Number of correct answer x4) – (Number of Incorrect answer x1.33).
